How To Unlock Your Cellphone

Most cellphone users have the ability to unlock their phone from their service provider on their wishlist. You have the choice when you buy any cellphone or smartphone to pay a higher 'unlocked' price, or a lower 'subsidised' handset locked to a particular service plan.

The four main ways that you can unlock your Storm.

1. Network Provider - In the United States the Storm is currently only available on Verizon and in the United Kingdom it is exclusive to Vodafone. Advise them that because you travel abroad you need to use local SIM cards. Whether they agree to unlock the Storm depends upon your customer value to them.
2. A Local Dealer - there are plenty of independent phone accessories stores and vendors. that provide unlocking codes for the Blackberry Storm or they will manually unlock it for you. This typically costs between $50 to $100 depending on location.
3. Unlocking Hardware - this hardware is very expensive to purchase and can be quite difficult to use.
4. Online Unlock Provider - There are several services available online that can unlock blackberry storms in a couple of minutes. You simply provide them with the IMEI of your phone and then you will receive the unlock code via email or SMS. Expect to pay around $40 to unlock your phone.
